The Vice President, professor Yemi Osibanjo, over the weekend, Jan 2, visits one of the site to see model houses of the 300,000 Social Housing Scheme for low income earners.
This was in support of president Buhari’s administration’s plan to construct 300,000 houses for low income Nigerians, under the Economic Sustainability Plan (ESP).
This was contained in a twitter post by the official handle of the presidency. The FG also talks-in cement manufacturers to slash the price of cement in support for this project which they gave in. “Cement manufacturers have reached an agreement with the Federal Government to charge at discounted prices. The vice president noted the contributions of major cement manufacturers in the country towards the success of the programme.
The VP was shown the prototypes of the one-bedroom and two-bedroom bungalows which he expressed satisfaction with the quality of the design and the fact that they are very affordable. The houses cost about N2m and people earning N30000 monthly can pay a mortgage of about Nine thousand Naira (N9k).
