Gunmen Attack Benue Revenue Inspection, Passerby Killed, One Injured

A passer-by identified as Dajoh Shima was shot dead and another injured when unknown gunmen attacked a Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) tax point in Zaki-Biam, Ukum Local Government Area of the state, Giditrendz obtained. 

The attack occured on Sunday evening, May 16.

Eyewitness reports stated that the gunmen numbering about six wearing Nigerian Army uniforms attacked the inspection point on a convoy of motorcycles shooting sporadically which resulted in the death of Shima, who was within the vicinity while another person sustained injuries.

The is coming after illegal tax operators unsuccessfully attacked the Executive Chairman of BIRS, Dr. Andrew Ayabam.
