NYSC Shuts Down All Orientation Camp Due to the Fear of Corona-Virus

As a result of pandemic Corona Virus, the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has directed all orientation camps be shut down with immediate effect nationwide.

The directive will disrupt the ongoing orientation camp of Batch A stream 1, across the 37 centres in the country.


CEO GidiTrendz.com Who Is Currently in Camp learnt that the directive is part of preventive measures taken by the scheme against the spread of deadly Corona Virus in the country.

A source who does not want his name mentioned told ROVING REPORTERS correspondent from Abuja that the directive to close down all Orientation camps indefinitely nationwide came from the headquarters of NYSC.

He said “we have been asked to close down all orientation camps and discharged them to their various place of primary assignment if possible and
Also,all corps members should get back to their different states pending the time when all dusts will be settled over this corona virus.

“I want to believe it is to avert anything that could endanger the lives of the corps members and the staff of NYSC.”

The scheme had on Thursday 12 March performed swearing in ceremony for the 2020 Batch A ,stream 1 corps members at all orientation camps across the country including the Ondo state camp located in Ikare Akoko.

It was further gathered that health personnel screened corps members and other persons with infrared thermometers at the point of entrance to guard against possible contraction of corona virus and Lassa fever within the orientation camps.
