Peter Obi Makes First Statement After INEC Declares Tinubu Winner Of Presidential Election

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has spoken for the first time after the announcement of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Saturday’s presidential election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had announced Tinubu winner of the polls early Wednesday morning.


Tinubu was declared the winner of the keenly contested presidential election with 36% of the 24,965,218 votes cast.

While Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had 29%, Peter Obi got 25% of the votes cast.

Reacting to the development via his Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon, Obi promised to address Nigerians and the international community soon.
