Subscribers will enjoy data Rollover from june 26

Do you know that the one of the major issues that telecom subscribers in Nigeria complain about is the inability to carry over unused data to a new subscription.

According to Daily Trust, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has given directives to telecom operators to commence data rollover from June 26, 2018.

The directive was given by the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Umar Danbatta who was represented by the commission’s Head of Information and Reference Unit, Ismail Adedigba at the 95th Consumers Outreach Programme in Dutse, Jigawa State.

That means starting from June 26, you don’t have to worry about making sure that you finish your data before its expiry date as any unused data would be carried over to the next data subscription.

Any operator that fails to comply with this directive will pay a fine of ₦5 million, on the first rollover failure and N500,000 on each day that follows, for every subscriber whose data didn’t get rolled over.

This is a good move by the telecom industry regulator, but the rate at which data subscription gets depleted still remains one of the top issues that customers have to worry about.

While this will not have an effect on the growth of telecom subscribers in the country, it would definitely ensure that subscribers get value for their data subscription.
