UNILORIN Set For Resumption, Gives Latest Update To Students

The University of Ilorin has show its readiness towards resumption of academic activities.


The Director of Academic planning, professor Abiodun Ademula who featured on today’s interview on Unilorin 93.5 fm revealed that the University is currently making moves towards resumption of academic activities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Don, who spoke today said that the varsity has put all measures in place to receive her students once the Federal Government gives a nod for reopening of institutions.

In an information gathered by Giditrendz, The professor affirmed that majority of lectures would be done “virtually” and efforts are currently being put together to ensuring safe reopening and accessibility of lectures online to students.

Speaking further, The large computers will be provided in major lecture theaters for students and thereby reducing the number of students in the class so as to ensure the social and physical distancing.

He further explained that the University has increased the speed of WiFi but it’s not yet active because it will be underused because students and staff are yet to be on campus.

The University is currently working on the construction of isolation centre in the school which location cited. Provision of hand washing basins have been fixed to also ensure students wash their hands before going to their various exam halls

The Don, equally said that varsity is working on partnering with a Canadian organization in ensuring effective lecturing especially for laboratories for science oriented students

He advised that students should obey and adjust their ways of living knowing full well that things are no longer what it used to be. All COVID-19 measures must be observed before entering the school gate and while on campus.
