2019 Election: APC Postpones Oyo Senatorial Primaries

The Oyo State chapter of the ruling All Progressive Party (APC) Senatorial primaries for the three districts in the state on Tuesday suffered a setback due to logistics problems that affected the conduct of the elections in the designated centres across the state.

Our correspondent, who monitored the exercise at Ibadan North Local Government secretariat, venue of the Oyo South district primary, observed that hundreds of party delegates and supporters were stranded waiting endlessly for arrival of election materials, which it was learnt were yet to arrive from party headquarters in Abuja.

It was further observed that the materials for the election which was earlier scheduled to hold at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan were yet to arrive as at the time of filling this report.

Similar story was recorded in Iseyin, venue of the Oyo North primary as party men, supporters and delegates were said to have arrived as early as 9am and till 5pm on Tuesday, the electoral materials were yet to arrive.
