3 Injured In Lagos Gas Explosion, 7 Vehicles Lost

No Fatalities Were Recorded In A Gas Explosion Incident In The Festac Area Of Lagos On Wednesday, August 12, 2020.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said the incident happened at 19B, Alakoso Industrial Estate,by Denca Terminal, Festac Town.

Three men sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to Gbagada General Hospital.

Four cars, one bus, and two trucks were affected by the explosion, according to LASEMA director-general, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu.

He said the explosion occurred from one of the trucks used by Archers Gas Company in the supply of oxygen gas cylinders to hospitals.

Gas explosions are commonplace in Lagos. Two people have died in two separate incidents in the past two weeks, while seven people required medical treatment for varying degrees of injuries.
