ASUU’s Lectures Free Day: UNILORIN Reschedules Examinations

 


Following the directive issued by the National leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to all its local chapters across the country to observe a lectures free day in other to sensitize the public about the plight and demands of the teaching staff from the government which were majorly premised on the lecturers’ welfare and to overhaul the varsities education with facilities that will make the academic environment conducive.

ASUU, University of Ilorin chapter, UNILORIN, has agreed to observe its own lectures free day tomorrow, Wednesday, 9th of February, 2022 amid the ongoing second semester examination.

In other intimate the students on the development, the management of the University has announced the reschedule of the examinations which were earlier slated for tomorrow.

Keeping the students in the loop, the Students’ union also issued a release to that effect.

The release which was issued today, Tuesday was jointly signed by the union officials, Taofeek Waliu Owolabi and his counterpart, Olabode Stephen Opeyemi, the union President, and the public relations officer respectively read in part:

“Due to the ASUU warning strike which is slated to hold tomorrow Wednesday 9th February, 2022, the University Management has moved all examinations (both written and CBT) earlier scheduled for Wednesday 9th February, 2022 to Saturday 12th February, 2022.

“Kindly note that the schedule for other examinations remain unchanged”.

GidiTrendz learnt that, some local chapters of ASUU from Monday started observing the directive. Bayero University Kano, BUK, observed its own Monday and the University of Lagos, UNILAG, are presently observing their lectures free day as instructed by its national body.
