Buhari’s Village, Daura Under Lockdown As Emir’s Palace Records COVID-19 Case
The palace of Umar Farouk, Emir of Daura has been sealed after a COVID-19 case was recorded.
Mustapha Inuwa, secretary to the Katsina State government confirmed the closure of the palace.
He told DailyTrust that the palace was closed after a positive case was recorded.
Inuwa disclosed that samples were taken from the palace for coronavirus tests and results are expected anytime soon.
Also, the State’s police spokesperson, SP Isa Gambo told reporters on Monday that Daura has been placed under lockdown with no exemptions.
He said the directive was issued by the State Governor, Aminu Masari.
Gambo said;
“Daura is under lockdown and so it shall be in every nook and cranny in the town without exception to anybody’s house, the police are just ensuring the lockdown order of the state government.”
“Don’t forget the first victim of coronavirus in Katsina was traced to Daura,” he added
Meanwhile, NCDC on monday recorded thirty-seven new cases of COVID-19 in the state.
Masari confirmed that the total number of cases in the State has risen to 75.
