Chelsea sacks coach Frank Lampard, lines up Tuchel as replacement
Chelsea have parted ways with Frank Lampard, with sources telling GidiTrendz that the London club is set to appoint Thomas Tuchel as his successor.
The struggling EPL giant informed the players not to come to the club’s training base at Cobham for their planned morning session while a formal statement was prepared to officially bring Lampards 19 month leadership to a catastrophic end.
Lampard’s side, in recent times, has managed just 2 wins out of 8 matches, losing to another struggling rival Arsenal in the process while trailing leaders Manchester United by 11 points halfway into the league.
The club in its official statement cited poor performance as reasons for Lampar’ ds sack. Club owner Roman Abrahamovic puts it thus: “This was a very difficult decision for the club, not least because I have an excellent personal relationship with Frank and I have the utmost respect for him.
“He is a man of great integrity and has the highest of work ethics.
