COVID-19: YOUTH PWR INT’L SUPPORTS YOUNG PEOPLE IN AFRICA AS PART OF ITS CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE.

 

YOUTH PWR INT’L, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), empowering young people in the United Kingdom and across Africa has started the distribution of various food items and household essentials as well as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to vulnerable young people in various parts of Lagos and Ibadan, Nigeria through its COVID-19 support project called #nextdoor.


 

The organization’s team lead said the gesture was to help reduce the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown among the young people in these locations. He also disclosed that the organization which is youth centric has always been known for supporting young people with issues affecting the youth as well as other personal issues that they may be facing and this is not an exemption during a critical time like this.

YOUTH PWR (Africa) team further revealed that the organization hopes to reach out to more young people in Nigeria and also across the African continent as it continues its support project and distribution of relief packages. The next stop of the outreach is the Republic of Ghana, which is set to commence from Saturday, 6th June, 2020.

Some of the beneficiaries of the items expressed their appreciation and thanked the organization for their kind gesture and support during this period of global crisis. Some of the items distributed are Rice, Garri, Beans, Milk, Body wash, to mention a few as well as some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including face masks and hand sanitizers.

YOUTH PWR (Africa) is the African arm of YOUTH PWR INT’L. The organisation works with communities to engage, inspire and educate young people with a central commitment to empower the youth for constructive engagement and empowerment for a sustainable future.
