Ebonyi Lecturer Abdicates Nigerian Citizenship

Victor Koreyo, a lecturer on the division of ceramics and glass know-how, Akanu Ibiam federal polytechnic, Afikpo, Ebonyi state, has written to President Muhammadu Buhari to approve his renunciation of Nigerian citizenship.


Koreyo stated he arrived on the determination following what he described as eight years of frustration. Koreyo stated he was demoted for a interval of eight years by the administration of the establishment.

He alleged that since 2010 until date, the establishments had refused to approve his utility for employees improvement alternative due to “ethnic politics” within the college.

“I like to proceed as citizen of this nice nation on earth. However since I should not have the monetary energy or connection to problem the rector to obey the federal authorities’s directives in my favour, I made a decision to take this peaceable motion,” he stated.

“I imagine this peaceable motion and step of honour will forestall the rector from killing me by premeditated frustration of my constitutional rights to social justice because the citizen of Nigeria.

I’ve nursed this sense of suicide to finish these eight years of frustration by the rector and officers of the Akanu Ibiam polytechnic division of tertiary training division of the federal ministry of training.

“And have determined the renunciation of my citizenship by delivery shall be one of the simplest ways to peacefully finish my quest for social justice on the ministry of training and eventually resign from federal public service of Nigeria.”
