Man United Defender Bailly Returns To Training

Eric Bailly is still being assessed after returning to Manchester United training on Tuesday, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed.

The Ivorian centre-back suffered an injury scare after a clash of heads with teammate Harry Maguire during Sunday’s FA Cup loss against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.

He was given oxygen and carried away in a neck brace before he was rushed to hospital for further checks and treatment.

The hit came as a worry for fans who thought the former Villarreal defender will have a long spell on the sidelines but he calmed their fears with his social media update on Monday.

Negotiations looked to be going well recently, as Aubameyang seemed more likely to sign an extension.

However, the forward is delaying his decision on a new contract as he is waiting for Barcelona to make their move.

The 31-year-old would be available for a cut-price fee this summer if Arsenal were forced into a sale. This appeals to Barca, who are operating on a strict budget following the COVID-19 outbreak.

The LaLiga giants are looking for a replacement for Luis Suarez, 33, but their primary target is Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez.

With Martinez carrying a price tag of around £100million, they may have to seek out other options.
