Chelsea have been rather busy this summer.

Whilst arguably the biggest news is that of Romelu Lukaku’s return for a record £97.5m transfer, it shouldn’t be forgotten that Thomas Tuchel and Thiago Silva have also committed their futures to the club.

Just days after guiding the Blues to their second Champions League win, it was announced that the two-year option in the German tactician’s contract was triggered, thus keeping him in west London until 2024.

Meanwhile, Thiago Silva has extended his stay by a further 12 months after impressing during his first season at Chelsea following his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

Furthermore, football.london understands there is a five-year contract on the table for Trevoh Chalobah after the 22-year-old impressed Tuchel in pre-season.

“This is what Trevoh did and I’m more than happy to have him in the squad and happy about how he managed to make his way through to first-team football at this level,” the Blues boss said. “He joined the academy at eight years old and this is simply fantastic.

“This is why I will always be happy to push players like this, but then you have to take your heart into your hands and you have to be brave and courageous enough to take responsibility when it is there. We will never hold anybody down.

“If you come from the academy, if you can produce, if you are a nice guy like Reece [James], like Mason [Mount], like Trevoh, like Callum [Hudson-Odoi], we will never stop pushing you.”

Now that Lukaku has been signed and Chalobah is set to stay, plans to finalise the Chelsea squad before deadline day can take centre stage.

And if reports are to be believed then the Blues’ director Marina Granovskaia has already decided the next three moves, which means there could be a few more announcements for fans to look forward to between now and August 31.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are looking to offload some players before making decisions on potential deals for Jules Kounde or Saul Niguez.

As a result, Davide Zappacosta is set to join Fiorentina on loan with an option to buy next summer and Tiemoue Bakayoko is one step away from joining AC Milan on loan.

In addition, Bologna want Malang Sarr on loan anda decision regarding Ike Ugbo will be made soon.
