Robbers Charm SARS Operatives To Escape From Custody

Loveth Ogbu, the 23-year-old girlfriend to an armed robbery suspect, yesterday, told policemen that her boyfriend; Bukola Adeoye aka Agbara escaped from the custody of the Ondo ARS with the aid of charm given to him by a lawyer who visited him in the police custody.

The lawyer, according to Loveth, was a senior brother to her boyfriend who was killed by police bullet when he engaged in robbery operation in Ore.

Bukola and Rotimi Adeyeye had escaped from the custody of the SARS with handcuffs in a situation the State Police Command described as a mystery.

The two suspects were parts of the six suspected armed robbers arrested by the police in Ijoka. Her words “As they got to the SARS office, the Barrister gave them juju.

After they got the juju, they told policemen that they wanted to urinate. The policemen were looking at them as they jumped the fence of the SARS office. They did not disappear, the juju made the policemen inactive.

Nemesis, however, caught up with Agbara, when one of his victims, Gbenga Babatomi, who came for treatment in a hospital for injuries Agbara inflicted on him, identified him, as he was in the same hospital for injuries sustained after a gun battle with policemen.

Agbara, who died hours later, having confessed his robbery activities to detectives, had robbed Babatomi, the previous night and inflicted several machete injuries on him. .

During the operation, the police were called and the robbers opened fire on them. Adeoye sustained gunshot injury during the exchange of fire and was rushed to the hospital, where he was identified by his victim. The other suspect, Adeyeye, is yet to be arrested.
