“Why We Didn’t Renew Chidinma’s Contract” –Says IllBliss
Since leaving her former record label, Capital Hill Records, Nigerian singer, Chidinma Ekile, has been struggling to remain related within the music business.
Chidinma’s current state of affairs has made some music critics question why she left Capital Hill Records when she had no concrete backup plan.
In an encounter with Sunday Scoop, co-owner of Capital Hill Records, Ill Bliss, acknowledged that it was the choice of the record label to not renew Chidinma’s contract when it expired.
The rapper stated:-
“Chidinma didn’t just wake up one morning and leave the record label. Didn’t you guys see that the relationship degenerated? Her contract expired with Capital Hill and we did not want to renew it. We are the record company; so, we decide what to do with an artiste we create.”
According to him, after they began Capital Hill Records, there was no plan to maintain artistes for a very long time.
“From the beginning, Clarence Peters and I didn’t plan to maintain artistes for too lengthy. Phyno stayed for a yr too.
There is at all times an issue whenever you begin to preserve an artiste for too lengthy since you need to recoup all the cash you invested in her or him and make an enormous revenue too.
We made some good cash from these artistes; we made sufficient cash to interrupt even and canopy all our bills,” he stated.
He added that when Chidinma’s contract expired after seven years with the corporate, they believed she wanted to construct her personal workforce.
“Chidnma knows where to find us and she knows we will always help her if she needs our help. We only have me and Mz Kiss on the label at the moment,” Ill Bliss added.
